About onemillion.earth
We built a single, honest thing: a platform where individuals and organisations can fund verified climate action and watch the impact accumulate in real time on a canvas.
Our mission: 50,000 tiles. $20 each. One million dollars of independently verified carbon removal and emissions avoidance — one tile at a time.
How it works
Choose a project
Pick from five independently certified carbon projects — from Scottish peatlands to Kenyan cookstoves to Amazon rainforest. Or choose Mixed Portfolio to spread your funding across all five. We're transparent about whether each project is carbon removal or emissions avoidance. No euphemisms.
Decide how many tiles
Each tile is $20 of verified climate finance, with a $4 platform fee added transparently ($24 total). Select as many tiles as you like. No hidden charges.
Canvas updates
Your name appears on the canvas. The credit is permanently retired in a public registry — Gold Standard, Verra VCS, or the Woodland Carbon Code depending on the project. You can verify it independently at any time. The canvas updates daily.
Why we built this
The voluntary carbon market has a credibility problem. Greenwash is rampant. “Carbon neutral” claims are everywhere. Companies buy cheap, low-quality credits and use them to avoid doing anything meaningful.
We wanted to build something different: a platform that is radically honest about what carbon credits are and aren't, that only lists high-quality certified projects, and that makes the mechanics completely transparent.
The canvas is part of that transparency. When you fund a tile, your name joins the canvas — a permanent, collective record of everyone who chose to act. You can watch progress in real time. It's not a certificate you file and forget — it's a living record of collective action.
We don't use the word “offset”. We don't promise “carbon neutrality”. We say: here is a real project, here is what it does, here is what your money funds. That's it.
Our platform fee
We charge a $4 platform fee per tile (20% on top of the $20 tile price — $24 total). This covers:
- ·Independent verification and due diligence on each project
- ·Platform operations, security and maintenance
- ·Registry administration and retirement tracking
- ·Ongoing project monitoring
The platform fee is not a carbon cost. 100% of the $20 tile price goes directly to the registry for credit retirement.
