About onemillion.earth
onemillion.earth is a climate finance platform operating as a trading name. Our purpose is to raise $1,000,000 of verified climate finance through the collective purchase of 50,000 tiles at $20 each. The platform is operated by a sole trader based in England.
What you are purchasing
When you purchase one or more tiles on onemillion.earth, you are making a contribution to a verified climate action project — either carbon removal or emissions avoidance, depending on the project you select.
You are not purchasing a carbon offset for your own emissions. Your purchase does not make you, your organisation, or any activity “carbon neutral”, “net zero”, or emissions-free.
Each tile represents $20 of verified climate finance directed to a certified project in the registry of your choice. The specific project details, credit type (removal or avoidance), and certifying registry are shown at the point of purchase.
Pricing and payment
All prices are in US Dollars (USD).
| Tile price | $20.00 |
| Platform fee (20%) | $4.00 |
| Total charged | $24.00 |
The platform fee is separate from, and additional to, the climate finance amount. It is not a carbon cost. Payment is processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your card details.
Registry purchase and credit retirement
Funds from tile purchases are reviewed and directed to the relevant carbon registry within 30 days of your purchase date. Credits are retired in the applicable registry — Gold Standard, Verra VCS, or the Woodland Carbon Code — against the project you selected.
Once retired, credits are permanently removed from circulation and cannot be resold or reused. You will receive a certificate confirming the retirement, accessible at onemillion.earth/certificate/[your-id].
Registry purchases are reviewed and processed in batches by the onemillion.earth founding team. The 30-day window reflects this manual review process at launch stage.
Refund policy
All tile purchases are final and non-refundable.
Because funds are committed to verified climate projects and credits are retired in a public registry, we are unable to issue refunds once a Stripe payment has been completed. If you believe a payment has been taken in error, contact us at privacy@onemillion.earth and we will investigate.
Your name on the canvas
Following a successful purchase, your name (or “Anonymous” if you opt for anonymity) will appear on the onemillion.earth canvas. The canvas is updated daily — your name will appear within 24 hours of your purchase being processed.
Your name also appears on the public leaderboard. If you selected anonymous, your purchase will be counted in totals but your identity will not be revealed. You may contact us at any time to switch to anonymous display.
